No Kick

For awhile now, we've been expecting some serious kung-fu action in Mae's womb. Technically, Baby's already able to move and kick about. But we haven't felt anything yet. The anticipation is killing me!!!

Every day seems to drag by these days. 177 days to go and our life seems to be playing out in slow-motion. Mae and I are caught in this limbo of not really knowing what to do. What's next?! Do we start shopping for strollers and cribs? Do we start researching fomulae and disposable diapers yet? Do we start naming Baby? What do we do? He hasn't even started kicking yet.

Somedays, we lie in bed and I put my palm on Mae's tummy and go, "C'mon Baby. Do it! Do it! Kick already." But Baby seems to be taking it easy on this one. Maybe he's just lazy. After all, his parents are! :P

  1. probably baby is rebel CEO-material. he ain' gonna kick if it is normal for babies to kick. and he ain't gonna kick cuz no one can make him.
i think now you put music on Mae's belly so he starts dancing/ kicking. i heard it helps? :D

  3. Leave the naming of the baby to the parents. :P
They used to say that an active, kicking baby would mean that he's going to be quite uh.. hard to handle while he grows up!

  6. i hate to do this but... have you spoken to the doctor about this?
one of my collegue at work notice that her baby wasn't as active as usual. this was after 8 months of pregnancy. she spoke to some of the mothers in the office who adviced her to go and see the doctor.
she lost the baby. reasons unknown.
if i were you, i'd rather check even if there is no problem. better knowing now and not knowing at all.

  8. CHOI, Wena! Tai Kat Lai Si.
Take it easy, James. When the kid start kicking, it will be darn painful at times.
Diapers - use Mami Poko. Quite reliable. a bit pricey though. Drypers are not so bad either.
Remember to buy bigger baby cot. you will need it when the kid start walking.
Stroller, buy the foldable one. Easier to put in the car.
Want anymore baby advice, can come to me. I have two monsters at home. (thank God they are not mine)

  9. gina, luckily (for me), i do not understand whatever u just said. :p
well, i'm a worry wart. better safe than sorry. after all, a quick call to the doc is pretty easy to do. :p
parenthood is not easy. how to look after a baby is not easy.
well, i'm still single but surrounded by babies galore for the past 10 years. my cousins and nephews and nieces sure are busy these days with 'recreational' activities. it's up to the older ones to 'jaga' them during family functions blah blah blah.
even the tips i'm giving you is what i've heard from aunts, cousins, friends. still up to james and mae, i should think.

  10. Thanks, Irene! I think you came here by way of your favourite little Sunday School song. :)
Wah, Gina! Looks like you're all equipped to be a mommy! Time you went out and got yourself knocked up. Hahahah!!!
Hey Wena, looks like you single people are more informed than us.

  11. I worry too much. Turns out that my friends only felt their babies kicking during the 5th or 6th months! And apparently, when babies kick, they really let it rip so you don't have to keep guessing!
Natasha, I'll get Baby into the mood with some Cuban Jazz! :)
To do telepathy, graceshu, I'd have to have a finely tuned mind. As it is, I can't even put a coherent thought together! Looks like that idea's out the window, huh?
Strizzt, did you mean to leave the naming of Baby to my parents? Heheh... They might give Baby a weird name just to take revenge on my shittiness as a kid! :)
Yes, oliviasy, we're gonna rock the womb!
Yes, yes, Shine... the dancing queen shall reign once again!
Haha, Wena! *piak* Scare me lah you! Anyways our next appointment is coming up. :)

  14. Yeah Olivia... heard about it and recalled reading about it too. So James, think better start early by letting baby listen to more classical music...!!
While me on the other hand, I'm going to head to Cambridge to get litres of drinking water ... who knows the "air suci" there might get baby to be 'brain-ier'!! Hehehehe.... :p
Sorry-lah.... talking crap. FYI: I'm not neurotic!! After all it's Friday.. So, have a good weekend everyone!!! :)
ps: But, seriously ... as long as the baby is healthy. That's all that really matters!! :)
