Gym Rat

A couple of days ago, I signed up at a gym. Yay! This is one of the most positive things I've done in a long time. I'm so proud of myself. Somebody give me a pat on the head. :)

Anyway, it's a small gym, one of those Mom & Pop operations started by this aging beefcake bodybuilder dude who's got a few titles under his belt. After reading Mei's (not Mae) experiences with FF, I decided to stay away from these overly-commercial establishments. Besides, this one is just across the street from my office, so I know I won't find too many excuses about not going.

Anyway, before you know it, before I even started on my first session, I'm already counting my six-pack before they develop. "Muahahahha... I'm gonna be buff," I tell Mae. And the whole conversation was, I'm gonna do this, I'm gonna do that.

"You better get them to give you a diet program as well," Mae interrupted. "No way!" I retorted, "I'm gonna eat like a pig and workout like a dog!"

"Yah," Mae snapped, "and behave like a monkey!"

"Just you wait," I warned her. "When I'm all buff and stuffed, I'm gonna manhandle you. Bwahahahhaha!" Oh boy. I just can't wait. And I won't have to. Today will be my first session. In fact, I'm going as soon as I submit this entry. Hopefully, I will survive to talk about it.

  1. Mei's experience doesn't reflect FF as a whole. i've been going to FF for 2 years and have not heard of such things.
Anyway, keep up the good work and watch your six pack develop. ;)

finally eh! good for you. just remember to discipline yourself and keep on at it, despite having to suffer (initially).
so when the six-pack came, are you going to show us a before and after picture of you? so that there's proof mah. :)

  8. I also joined a similar gym in SS15... never been there in more than two months. It's not that I don't want to exercise (okay, I don't) but it is just that I don't have time and the hours on those gyms aren't really flexible... previously, I joined FF. I quit when I started Form 6 - if I couldn't go at least 5 times a day, FF is way too expensive.
Maybe after STPM when I finally have time.
But don't have too lofty goals. Oh, and you do have to change your diet - not drasticly. Have more meals. More small meals. For some reason or another, it works.

Good for you Pickyin. :) As for my 6-pack, here's hoping.
Thanks Mei. But so far, after one session, it hasn't been fun.
Awww... poor Babe! Yah, I hope I won't drop out.
Aiks! Before picture ah, Lilian. Better not lah, after you all cannot visit my blog after a meal. Besides, I'm not sure I can live up to the embarassment!!
    Anjali!
Better get back with the program, Gina!
Yeah, Lucia, the first session was a killer!
9: I need to! Hur hur hur! :)
Hmm.... better get back to it Rajan. I too worked out a little back in Form6. I was a skinny bugger then. But the workout did something to my metabolism, so when I stopped, I just ballooned! OooOooer!
I survived alright, Leo. Details coming up!

  12. I know what you mean BabeKL. I used to lift a bit of free weights back in Sec. school. After I stopped, I never got back into it again.

  13. james: Uhm, I mean no time to go to gym, not no time to exercise. Jogging/running is more relaxing and it's done within half an hour.
